drink upDr. Kantor was recently interviewed by Diets in Review about childhood obesity, and why it is important for children to “Drink Up.” Dr. Kantor believes that we are taking steps in the right direction towards fighting childhood obesity.  To continue this effort we need to educate children about proper nutrition, and find a way to make it cool to be healthy and live a healthy lifestyle.  Michelle Obama has teamed up with Partnership For A Healthier America to encourage Americans to replace their sugary, unhealthy beverages with water. This is  important for children since many of them take in up to 1000 empty calories a day from fruit juice, soda, and sports drinks. If they would replace this with water, or even fruit infused water, it would make a huge impact on the obesity crisis.
