Dr. Kantor returns to Good Day Albany, this time to discuss the rising childhood obesity epidemic. School systems in many states are sending home “fat letters” to alert parents if their child has a high BMI or body mass index.  While some parents are offended by the letters, Dr. Kantor says we need to look at the intent. We are finally getting schools to do something concrete about the obesity epidemic which is a good thing. It hopefully starts a discussion at home, and encourages the parents to become more educated and involved in the health of their children and family. The overall health of your family is very important, so we need to educate ourselves on ways to get involved and live a healthy lifestyle.
