Will there be an influx of people retiring earlier due to health insurance changes under the Affordable Care Act? Would older Americans rather wait for Medicare to kick in than to pay high prices for their health insurance? What will this mean for the health care industry? Kathryn Vasel of Fox Business News asked Dr. Kantor these questions and more in their recent interview.
Dr. Kantor believes that there will be an increase in retirees and that it will negatively impact the health care system. Between unemployment and retirees, only 63.2% of the American population is working, which makes it hard to support government programs. When the government starts paying less money for procedures and visits, doctors either have to decide not take (Medicare/Medicaid) patients or to see more people in the same period of time to make the same amount of money. Unfortunately, care in this situation becomes compromised.
