With so many different reports on obesity, what should we believe?  Dr. Kantor sets the record straight on childhood obesity, where it’s headed, and how we can combat it childhood obesitywith Produce Business Magazine.

We obviously have a huge childhood obesity problem in the United States.  The latest reports show that rate of increase has gone done, but obesity is still a huge issue for our children, and our health care system.  Schools are trying to help with healthier lunches, but there are still unhealthy options, they are still lacking in gym classes, and in the education of nutrition.  What we have to do is attack the problem before children go to school.  Research has shown that if we do this, it helps tremendously.

We need to get kids involved and engaged in making healthy choices from an early age.  The Green Box League of Nutritious Justice gets kids interested in health and fitness through comics, coloring sheets, recipes they can make, exercises for the whole family and more.  Animated characters teach children about healthy veggies, fruits and proteins.  Then when kids go to the supermarket with their parents, they will recognize and name all of these healthy things.  Retailers also need to help catch the attention of children, and do what they can to make healthy choices easy and available for parents.
