Dr. Kantor agrees with the AMA’s recent decision to classify obesity as a disease and recently discussed why with WPXI Radio. The facts are that the obesity rate in America has increased to 30% of adults and that childhood obesity has doubled in the last 30 years. By recognizing obesity as a disease, doctors will be able to treat it more aggressively, which now they don’t.
