Holiday decorations are up the holiday season is in full swing.  With all of this holiday spirit in the air, Len Erickson of WLKF Radio wants to know, how can we avoid those extra pounds? holidayDr. Kantor reminds us that we keep putting on an average of 7 pounds between Thanksgiving and New Year’s and during the year we only lose 2 or 3, thus adding on 4 or 5 pounds per year. This doesn’t seem like a lot but over 4 or 5 years that can add up to 25 extra pounds. This “weight creep” is part of the reason why half of the population is overweight or obese in our country. So with all of the lovely meals and foods prepared what are we to do?  We need to follow common sense suggestions like drinking more water and filling our plates with proteins and vegetables instead of starchy carbs and sugar.  Dr. Kantor offers many more suggestions in this interview with WLKF Radio.
