Dr. Kantor says that the problem is that between Thanksgiving and New Year’s American tend to gain 7 pounds but only tend to lose about 4 or 5 of them. This weight creep is part of the reason that 63% of the American population is overweight.  There are ways to avoid it though. First, have a plan, a concept of what you want to do ahead of time.  Try to fit in some exercise, even if it’s just walking around the neighborhood or the mall.  Also remember to have everything in moderation. You can still try all of the different foods, but just have small portions and fill up your plate with 30% protein, at least a 30% of veggies and fruits and leave just a little bit of room for carbs. With these tips you can enjoy the foods, but avoid the weight gain.
