By Sarah Crawford –  As the Easter holiday approaches, chocolate and candy will continue disappearing from shelves at grocery stores as locals prepare for the filling of baskets from the Easter bunny.

According to the National Confectioners Association, Easter is the second biggest selling season for candy. In fact, in 2014 Easter-related sales were expected to grow by 4 percent and actually beat that with a 5.3 percent increase, according to NCA.

For parents wondering how to please their children without overindulging them in the sugary treats most purchased this holiday season, Keith Kantor, a nutritionist and author, said balance is best.
