health careDr. Keith Kantor is the author of What Matters and the former chairman of a House of Representatives’ commission on lowering health care costs. He recently discussed these topics as well as the Affordable Care Act, with American Law Radio. His book, What Matters, centers around leadership values that are missing in America, and has a big theme of health care throughout the book. It also contains information about the Blue Ribbon Advisory Panel that he chaired, which came up with $253 billion per year in savings without using a mandate. This panel used common sense to come up with practical solutions to America’s health care crisis.  The current Affordable Care Act on the other hand, was not designed to fix the health care crisis. Rather it was based on trying to make insurance more affordable for families and low income households. The numbers we have see thus far however, do not show this to be the case.
