healthy halloweenIs it possible to have a fun and enjoyable yet healthy Halloween? Dr. Kantor believes that it is and recently gave suggestions for how to make it possible to Ally of Y108 Radio.  If you are handing out treats this year, don’t buy them way ahead of time. You and your children will just be tempted to eat them, and a little bit every day can add up to be a lot. Most Halloween candy is full of dyes, high fructose corn syrup and excessive amounts of sugar and preservatives. Instead of these typical treats, go for the higher quality brands like Newman’s Own chocolate, Annie’s organic fruit snacks, Yummy Earth lollipops and Pirate’s Booty. All-natural or organic treats without the additives and preservatives are the way to go.

In this interview, we also get a sneak peak into the idea behind Dr. Kantor’s upcoming book, The Green Box League of Nutritious Justice. This book is due out in November and is a fun and interactive way to teach our children about proper nutrition and fitness.  It is filled with healthy characters like Knute Trition (nutrition) and  Ed Yucation (education) that battle the bad guys like OBCD (obesity) and the Sugar Shark.  Look for more to come on this great book, filled with educational information, recipes, exercises and more!
