These Valentine’s treats are both healthy and taste delicious – and the best part is that the kids can make them with you!

Guilt Free Cookie Dough Bars

No need to worry about your kids eating raw egg with these cookie dough bars, they are grain free, gluten free, dairy free, egg free and yummy!

Ingredients:

1½ cup Almond Flour

1½ Tbsp. Coconut Flour

1/3 tsp. sea salt

1/3 tsp. baking soda

2 tsp. vanilla extract

1/3 cup melted coconut oil or butter if you don’t like the coconut oil

1/3 cup maple syrup

½ cup mini chocolate chips or M&M’s (get Valentine’s Day colored M&M’s to be extra festive!)

Directions:

1.  Mix dry ingredients in one bowl.

2.  Mix wet ingredients in another.

3.  Mix together.

4.  Press dough into 8 × 8 glass pan.

5.  Chill until firm. Then cut into squares.

Enjoy! Keep chilled in airtight container. If you want real cookies bake them on 350 for approx. 10 min.

 

Better Brownies

A tasty rich, flourless treat with protein and fiber.

Ingredients:

½ cup sliced almonds

½ cup unsweetened cocoa powder

¼ cup agave nectar

1 oz. unsweetened chocolate, chopped

½ tsp. baking soda

¼ tsp. salt

½ cup packed pitted dates

¼ cup almond milk

2 Tbsp. Extra virgin olive oil

1 tsp. vanilla

2 large eggs

Directions:

1.  Preheat oven to 325 degrees. Line an 8 inch square pan with foil and coat lightly with oil.

2.  In a food processor, blend almonds, cocoa, chocolate, baking soda and salt until ground. Pulse in dates, agave nectar, almond milk, oil and vanilla until a smooth paste forms.

3.  Beat egg whites until medium peaks form. Stir in 1/3 of almond mixture, then fold in remaining mixture. Spread in baking pan.

4.  Bake until a toothpick comes out almost clean, about 30 minutes.
