WRVA News Radio Wellness Programs Promote Healthy Choices

Jimmy Barrett of WRVA News Radio and Dr. Keith Kantor discuss health and wellness programs.  These programs offer incentives and are a great alternative to imposing penalties for not living a healthy lifestyle. Dr. Kantor says that these programs do work, lowering rates from insurance companies, lowering blood pressure and glucose levels, and resulting in weight loss as long as employees are properly engaged and incentivized.  Green Box Foods, the largest of these companies, promotes a healthy lifestyle by engaging employees through contests and incentives, providing education, nutrition information, fitness and exercise tips and more. The result: people actually begin to enjoy the idea of living a healthy lifestyle. Listen for more information on what these programs have to offer.
